For the next event, collective Norn presents an evening of informal discussion, which explores the role of visual artists and collaborative practice in the process of ‘regeneration’. Artists Harold Offeh, Hilary Powell and Mark Wayman will present and talk about recent projects which specifically reference Peckham and the Olympic site in East London. The following open floor discussion will be led by Nick Ferguson.
Hilary Powell will screen her 2007 film The Games and will talk about the circumstances surrounding its creation, while performance artist Mark Wayman re-presents An East End Border, 2007, in which he asks his audience to re-imagine the Olympic development.
Harold Offeh will be presenting his project The Mothership Collective/ Peckham TV, realised in collaboration with The People Speak and due to take place in Peckham Square on 21 June. This ongoing project addresses the media’s negative representation of Peckham and asks local inhabitants how best to revitalise the area.
Pudding Mill River Co will introduce their new range of sloe gin, elderflower champagne and conserves created from wild fruit harvested around the Olympic site and Adam James will be performing in the streets around Artprojx Space.
Norn is Carmen Juliá, Ali MacGilp and Cassandra Needham.
